

Located, on the banks of the River Tay, Dundee in North East Scotland is Scotland's 4th largest city. Although it is a city it has more of a village feel, and is quite compact.
It can be reached easily from Glasgow or Edinburgh with trains running approximately every hour.
Dundonians use their own slang, influenced by Lowland Scots - common words include 'Ken' - meaning to know, and 'Bridie' being a pastry filled with meat.
The city has a history of of creativity - xrays and electric light were developed here for one thing; the city continues it's inventive past today with forays into medical and scientific research.
There's plenty to do in and around Dundee - which has leisure centres with wave machines. climbing walls, art galleries, gold courses, you name it. Bar Rio in Nethergate is a great Dundee bar well worth a visit - it has a fantastic view of the city and an excellent selection of drinks.
Dundee is a perfect touring base for golfers who often stay there when playing at the world famous St Andrews course. Apparently the air in Dundee is cleaner than in any other Scottish city!
Kingennie Fishings near Dundee has been a fly fishing hot spot for centuries. There are luxury fishing lodges where you can stay and sample the delights of their four fishing ponds. Definitley worth a visit if you are a keen angler.
Shopping enthusiasts will not be disappointed - Dundee has several shopping centres including the massive Overgate Centre and the Wellgate centre.
